This was a fun one! Even though we arrived when the sun was a bit to high and hot, we ended ups catching up and having a blast! This group of people are so fun and even funnier!
I really did enjoy this session! Thanks A & I for allowing me to capture some memories!

One of my most favourite types of sessions!! The New “Fresh Moments” Session. Overtime I shoot one I am in awe at how relaxed a hospital room can be. After having my babies I loved the hours following delivery. We had just welcomed new life, the feeling of happiness and joy, excitement and freshness. The space was always so relaxed and open. It honestly provides the most relaxing space for a newborn shoot. Parents are always saying how happy they are they choose this type of session.
A Fresh Moments session | is done 2 – 24 hrs after baby is born. I will travel to you while you are in the hospital. It is a perfect way to capture your new baby in a natural environment with little disturbance or posing. We use the natural light that most; large hospital windows provide. With a favorite blanket and onesie we can create your baby’s most relaxed and natural photo shoot. This is a great option to families who are not comfortable with birth photography.

When I talk about or think about visiting Pender Island. The thing I look forward to the most is the Farmers Market. It happens every Saturday from Easter to Thanksgiving. It is a small market with so much to see. The creative people that live on the island is remarkable. They have everything from Local writers, Pottery, tea, so many unique knick knacks and gifts… It’s always a lot of fun walking the Pender Island Market.
Once we spent all our money we hopped over to pick up lunch from a small bakery and restaurant. The food at Pender Island Bakery is literally to die for!! SO Yummy!!!! Dorothy is simply amazing, she aims to please the taste buds and when we ask her and her team to feed 8 busy ladies with zero input you will not get your ordinary lasagna. Every meal was unique and tastes like heaven. Highly Recommend!! This day was so jammed packed the rest will be in a part two blog post so stay tuned! Day one can be read here.

As some of you may know we have temporarily re-located back to Alberta. I finished off the season in Chilliwack and moved back to my childhood home in Morniville. It was a hard decision one my husband and I didn’t take lightly, but Alberta is where the money is right now (and some pretty important people). The girls seemed to have adjusted ok, other then a couple bouts of antibiotics, -20 weather and us still waiting on our moving bin (which has our entire life in). We still have a ways to go. It is our new adventure…
The girls are all growing, learning and changing so much… Little Laila is growing faster then ever. (Again I am posting a month behind…) she is now 6 months, she is sitting on her own, and she has her two bottom teeth poking through. It madness. I am trying to soak in every moment I can. Here are a few photos of her last month.
Looking forward to the many new memories and people we will meet!

When T called me I was so excited to meet her and her Grand Daughter, one: the session was just for her grand daughter (don’t get me wrong I like shooting families, but I love shooting just kids) two: she was looking for something more creative. Not the typical look at the camera and smile photos. She was looking to capture a moment. I was so excited!! When T she explained that her daughter had passed away this year, I felt heartbroken no mom should ever have to bury their child. This little girl is her daughter. What a sweet little girl. Having to deal with something no 3 year old should ever have to deal with. My heart breaks for this family. This session is in memory of her mommy.

It seems as though I am a month behind my sweet sugar plums photos! Oh my… it’s tough with 3 littles 5 and under! This little love cake, bumble bee, pumpkin, sweetie pie, peanut, sugar plum… (hmmmm what other nickname do I give this poor child who may never know her real name) She is my sunshine. And what a little ray of light she is. Her smile will scare off any dark cloud. It is a force to be reckoned with!
Happy 3rd Month my little love cake, bumble bee, pumpkin, sweetie pie, peanut, sugar plum…

On our last day we all woke up feeling inspired after a long night of chatting about business. We all learnt something important. That we are all talented and deserve to be treated as such. We create art, we capture time and freeze it for a lifetime. We give our clients so much to look forward to, we take their moments and give it to them on paper to look back on. We should all be so proud of that. So todays shoot was even more important. We worked during a time a day that most of us dread… full sun. But when your shooting in a place like Pender Island with so many amazing locations it turned out to be a really easy session. Especially when the kids are super cute! We all worked as a team to be sure everyone had time to get the images. So if you were not snapping away you were holding the reflector or trying to make the kids smile or laugh. It was amazing to just step back and watch.
Here are a few from the day!
With a session out of the way we all go head back to the house and eat. Then we all had a massage. We spent the rest of the day photographing each other. (Images will come later)
It was an amazing experience! I am so proud to be among these amazing women.

If I could name this session I would call it Beautiful Light. The house we rented on the ocean had this amazing master suite. When you awoke to the sun you awoke to the ocean, trees, bald eagles… everything wonderful in this world. The room was made up of these huge windows that boxed around a portion of the room. The light was to die for… well a photographer would die for! And then to add two super cute kids to the mix you get one super wonderful session!!
Here are a few I love!

A couple weeks ago I helped organize a photographers retreat. It started with an idea of a reunion and a packed that some of us from our Jinky Workshop would get together every year some way some how… Then Art & Life Photo Collective Retreat was born! I wont go into all the planning details but once the weekend had arrived I was so excited. I was looking forward to the good company, amazing food, and fun sessions we had planned for these kids! We had a house full of serious talent!! I was so honored to be among them. To see some of the others ladies who attended please click here, here & here
After kinda of a stressful first few hours this first session turned out to be one of my favorites of the weekend. This little guy was so amazing he was patient, calm, helpful and really cute. His mom was just as awesome and so thankful for the opportunity. I would name this session A Magical Hike.
Stay tuned for day two I would call yummy light….
